Transamerica Life Bermuda cares about the importance of gender parity to provide a more inclusive working environment for our employees.
In an effort to support International Women's Day, Transamerica Life Bermuda, together with Aegon Asia (the regional office of our parent company), has teamed up with Suits for Success in Hong Kong. Our employees are encouraged to give away second-hand quality suits to those in need of professional clothing for work.
Suits for Success, a Hong Kong initiative started in 2014, encourages and helps people who struggle to (re-)enter the workforce by providing them with gently worn professional clothing collected from people working in professional organisations in Hong Kong. Refugees, mothers, students and anyone who cannot afford high-quality, decent-looking outfits for work or job interviews can benefit.
We have collected over 130 items, including shirts, skirts, dresses, trousers, shoes, belts, handbags, etc. A team of enthusiastic staff also show their further support to this meaning programme and spent the weekend, volunteering to help sort and pack the collected clothing at Suits for Success's warehouse.
